A Boo-tiful October

When this month started, all I saw was a calendar of busy weekends.  It was almost depressing to look at it and know - without a doubt- that this month was going to fly by, much like this whole year has just zoomed by.  I have been trying to make sure I enjoy every day - every week - every month, so I don't feel like I am  missing anything, and enjoying life to the fullest....

This month has been so much FUN!   I have a co-worker who throws a much anticipated Spooktacular costume party.  She planned it for months in advance.  I mean MONTHS in advance!  I couldn't make it to the party because I went camping with Franny and her Girl Scout troop.  But I made Mitzi this mini album so she could commemorate the big event.  It's a 6X6 album with chipboard covers and acrylic inner pages.  Isn't the paper just ghoulishly fun?  It was Franny's idea to add the googly eyes.  Of course I had to make some owire spiders for decor.

Like I said, Franny and I spent the night in the wilderness last weekend.  One night and I think I'm John Muir.  Ha!  Who knew there was so much dirt outside?  We had a good time, though, and Franny LOVED it.  She awoke in the tent and said to me, "Mom, this was the best day EVER!"  I fear I am in for many more nights listening to wild roosters crowing (all night), s'mores, and campfire song fests!

And if all this wasn't enough, I was THRILLED to go see U2 at the Rose Bowl last weekend too (yes, I was very tired).  It has been ages since I have been to a stadium show, and U2 never disappoints.  They are touring with a massive structure they call the "claw" that allows for a 360 degree view of the stage.  They modeled it after the theme restaurant at LAX.  Really quite amazing.  Oh, and the music was spectacular.  I pride myself on trying to stay "hip" though I have been informed by my teenage daughter that it just isn't so!  Oh well.  I can can still rock out!  But this shaky video doesn't do them justice.  Look up their official channel on YouTube and see the whole concert - it was streamed live that night! (the Black Eyed Peas were really fun too!)

My favorite lyric of the night (and is on the t-shirt I bought) is "the future needs a big kiss!"  Isn't that great?
Have a great weekend.
