Lately I have been bemoaning the hot, dry predictable Southern California weather, but after spending four days in the midwest with the remnants of Hurrican Ike raining down on me I will try not to complain ever again! That was what you call RAIN! How terrible for the more devastasted parts of the country. I got to drive through some decent flooding, and it did change the plans for my nephew's wedding (moved indoors without too much calamity), but all-in-all it was a good trip. I traveled with my older sister, Li, and even though we had good intentions of seeing more of Chicago, we stayed closer to my other sister's house - Mei. One destination that got alot of my attention - Archivers. I didn't visit this store when I was in town before and I had wanted to. So what better on a rainy day? What a great store. I visited the Downer's Grove location, and was delighted to see the range of products they carry - some things I had not seen here locally. I especially liked the Archivers exclusive QK Revolution dies. I treated myself to one (yes, ONE) even though I could've broke the bank on more (and I did have to get a wedding present for the newlyweds, afterall!) Hee Hee. My sisters - non-scrapbookers - tried to be patient as I wandered through everything. Although I always say we have the BEST scrap stores here in SoCal, I must say, Archivers is bee-u-tiful!
And, so proud of myself - in between the traveling, the wedding and the rain, I still kept up with my Type+Writer class on JessicaSprague.com. Here is the latest layout. In this lesson we learned how to make the cool word art background from our own journaling. So completely, totally cool! I mean, I took a class online, wrote the journaling, took the pictures, downloaded the digital kits, uploaded photos from the same day, and voila. A layout! It is so cool.....I know I said that already. But it IS!
