Crops2Remember - Remember Indeed!

This weekend was the 1st anniversary crop for Crops2Remember – the weekend retreat started by myself, Naomi Murphy and Jessica Guthrie. I’m in a bit of a time warp, because I find it hard to believe that it’s been a whole year since the first once, but I guess so. We returned to the same hotel in Lake Forest and had quite a few “repeat offenders” from last year who returned for more of the same. All told I figure I was scrapping or shopping for nearly 40 hours total– that includes until 3AM Saturday morning! I admit to being more than a little bleary eyed later than day! Like last year, we had some great sponsors, including the Red Bee and Timeless Treasures (our shopping excursions), eclectic Paperie, SoCal Scrap, Little Windows, Kits2Remember, Designs ‘n Such and our friend Laura Miller from Desert Scrappers/CTMH. Thanks to all of them, we had highly coveted raffle prizes – not to mention the ultra blingy tiara donated by the Diva herself, Diva Danielle of the Diva Craft Lounge.

For me, the best part of the weekend is the socializing and getting to know my fellow croppers. And if that weren’t great enough we had two wonderful special visitors who came and inspired our group. Stephanie Ackerman brought cookies and a cute make ‘n take – and talked about her magazine Home & Heart and all her amazing activities coming up this year. She brought us her homemade chocolate chip cookies in an adorable little brown bag - and those cookies are super YUM! And, Cheryl Waters (Fiskateer #002) came late in the day on Sunday with an enormous basket of goodies to give away, after she demoed various Fiskars tools and shared her projects. We love Cheryl - she is a sweetheart! I got over 20 layouts done, including this one for the page challenge – so I am very pleased with my productivity; last night I organized all the donated scrap items that will go to CHOC this week; and the bonus is I am already packed and semi-organized for NSD this weekend. Can’t get much better.
