To say I was pleased with myself after my first 5k race is putting it mildly. I had such a great time doing this race, but also training for it....which is something I really didn't expect. I am not an elite level runner - I am just glad to be running period, and finishing the darn thing. So I scrapped this fun picture of me on the Surf City surfboard pretty quick. I raided my "junk drawer" of embellishments and found this rubber charm that says "Life itself is the PRIZE" - I just love it for this layout. (Even though all race participants got surfboard-shaped finisher medals, I still think that just feeling great is a big bonus to this experience. I still totally dig my medal though.) And, I also uncovered the little plastic flowers that I used in the flower centers. I love finding little long lost treasures in the the "drawer de junque."
I had to make my racing bib a centerpiece here - like how it's personalized with "Scrappynan"? LOL!
Here's to many more races :)
